Aircraft Fire Fighting Training Facilities
The Rocky Mountain Emergency Services training facilities consist of two buildings with multiple classrooms, including a vehicle bay that can accommodate a 1500-gallon ARFF vehicle. This lay-out allows students to participate in hands-on familiarization of the ARFF truck during the classroom portions of the training classes.
The buildings also contain administrative offices, a medical room, decontamination room, shower rooms, and a large control room which can be used as an additional classroom for specialized courses. The buildings are furnished with high-quality amenities to ensure students are comfortable during classes.
There are many training and safety aids incorporated into the buildings. The control room contains two computer systems which control the 737 SAFT and Spill Fire mock-ups and provide back-up assurance of safety in the case of a computer failure. A separate system is used for maintaining training records and other pertinent information. An outdoor classroom/viewing area provides cover from weather conditions while still allowing students to observe training scenarios.
